The Florida legislature has come and gone for another year. Hundreds of bills and a $117.5 Billion budget are on their way to the Governor for him to sign or veto.
The non-profit radio station, WMNF in Tampa, has compiled a list of budget items that may be noteworthy. Take a look here.
It should be noted that little is done to address the Florida insurance crisis. Florida’s home and auto insurance rates are by far the highest in the country. With skyrocketing home insurance costs forcing some people out of their homes, and auto insurance costs zooming unchecked, the legislature is largely silent on the insurance issue. Many people in Southwest Florida who had their homes destroyed by Hurricane Ian two years ago are still trying to get insurance payouts to rebuild their lives.
